Despite its dated 1970s furnishings and interior, this hotel remains perennially popular with travelers, mainly because of its moderate prices compared with other higher-end hotels. But note that this is only true if you manage to find a special rate, on the Internet for instance. There's a lively English pub in the basement, which perhaps explains its popularity with British business travelers and British Airways crews. Some rooms are spacious with splendid sea views, and of the yachts and boats moored at the Hong Kong Yacht Club; other rooms are smaller and have street views. The location, adjacent to Victoria Park, is ideal for shopping and dining. ToTT's Asian Grill & Bar, on the top floor, has East-meets-West cuisine and live music. On a historical note, the hotel sits on the first plot of land auctioned by the British government when Hong Kong became a colony in 1841.
